The craftsmanship of this delightful nosegay brooch is superb. The nosegay brooch is a common motif, depicting a sprig of flowers to enliven your lapel like a corsage of fresh blooms. This silver gilt nosegay consists of two blossoms with three-dimensional petals carved from frosted crystal. Gilt pistils swirl around garnet stamens. Tender leaves, naturalistically carved from deep green jade. A silver gilt ribbon curls around the flower stems. This wonderful brooch fastens with a secure trombone clasp. Circa 1940.
