This wonderful little antique Victorian Silver Cut Steel Parrot brooch is Circa 1900.

Victorian jewellery mirrored Queen Victoria’s life with the ‘Romantic’ period producing decorative animal, bird and lizard pieces, symbolising the monarch’s sentimental side.

The detailed little Parrot is sat on a Silver perch with sparkling wings encrusted with Cut Steel studs.

Cut-steel jewellery is set with faceted and polished steel studs that resemble gemstones. This type of jewellery was popular during the Victorian era with finer, older pieces having more faceted studs.

The brooch is stamped 925 for Silver and fitted with a pin and secure safety catch.

Purchased in London and steeped in English history. The brooch is a lovely talking piece and looks beautiful when worn.

Weighs 6.9 grams.

Measures 23mm across x 45mm down.
