This very early Georgian harlequin gem set paste brooch is absolutely beautiful.
Set with the most striking paste stones that have all been tested in 18ct gold gilt.
The brooch is sterling silver gilded in 18ct gold.
Paste stones sparkle beautifully captivating
the allure of natures beauty.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent
flint glass that simulates the fire
and brilliance of gemstones because it has
relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion.
Centre stone is over 10ct with smaller paste stones chasing
around the outer gallery each one is 2 - 3 ct in size.
This really is a very important brooch with little wear.
Excellent all round condition, there is a slight solder mark
