This fabulous antique Edwardian pendant brooch was made representing the Suffragette movement, Circa 1910.
The pendant is adorned with a violet Amethyst, green Peridots and decorated with creamy white Pearls. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
The pendant is fitted with a secure pin and catch so that the piece can also be worn as a brooch.
All set in 15ct Yellow Gold which is stamped on the reverse. A wonderful antique piece that would look fabulous displayed on a Gold chain.
Weighs 5.5 grams.
Measures 26mm across x 45mm down.
